The Process

I've been hard at work trying to prepare for Hot Apple Pie's new CD. I've been writing non-stop! Last week me, Keith and Kevin got together with Stan Lynch to play and record some demos that Stan and I wrote. It was a blast! If you're not familiar with Stan he was an original member of Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers. A Rock and Roll Hall of Famer! Not only a great player but a great guy.
We recorded at 16 Ton Studios in Nashville. The place has got a great vibe. In the lounge there's a jukebox that Johnny Cash used to own. Danny the owner said that it still has some 45 records that Johnny himself installed.
The musical direction for this next record is yet to be determined. We just want to record some killer music and not worry about it so much.

I'm sure some of you saw that Hot Apple Pie is playing CMA Fest this year. We'll be playing two places. One is at the Sommet stage on Broadway, the other is at a little club that GAC is renting out. The club is on Wednesday and the Sommet stage is on Friday. We haven't played live in a while so we're excited about it. We're scheduled to do some autograph signing in Digital Rodeo's booth and GAC's booth. Personally I've been doing some writer nights with some friends of mine and that's been a ball too, but it'll be good to get back together with the band.

I'm also going in the studio to produce some demos with Nikki Z. She's getting ready to get her website and myspace up and running. I'll let you know when that happens so you can check it out.

I've got two other artists (David Bradley and Larry Berrio) that I'm producing and their projects will be out later this year too.

Last but most importantly I'm going to be a dad in September! It'll be the thrill of my life. We moved out the mattress yesterday for the crib. Oh and by the way... it's going to be a boy.

If you're around for CMA Fest or some of my shows come up and say hey. It's been too long!

Later,
Brady
