I just got back from Austin a couple of nights ago and had a great time. I went down there on behalf of NSAI and spoke on song writing, A&R and artist development at the Austin Songwriters Group Symposium.
My wife came with me and we had a great time. We met a lot of wonderful ASG members and hopefully I helped answer a few of their questions about the biz. Lee Duffy was the event host and she was so hospitable. I hope they ask me back next year.
We made some friends while we were there Monte Warden and his wife Brandy and Bill and Ruth Carter. We went for a jog with Monte and Brandy and they were kind enough to lend us jogging shorts and socks and even went by the shoe store so we could buy some new running shoes. Great people!
While we were there we did some sightseeing too. We visited the Zilker Botanical Garden, Barton Springs, Sixth Street, and the Austin capital building. I took Lisa by La Zona Rosa cafe. Some of you might remember that from the Little Texas days in the song Amy's Back In Austin.
And boy did we eat our fill of authentic Mexican food too. Mmmm!
I thought I'd upload a photo of the trip.
Peace,
Brady
